    I already know that:

    1. Michelle is founder of BEST and teaches webinars.

    2. Michelle is also my cognitive teacher in the ABI program.

    3. I know that Jacob Greene is a former student of the ABI program. He will also make a special appearance towards the end of this strategic program.

    4. I know that I have already been exposed to the “Reading to Learn” concept and strategies being taught here so reviewing this info is jogging my memory and hope to retain it better the second time around.

    5. I know I can read a novel with an easy story line but have a hard time following a novel that jumps from story to story that ultimately connect at the end of the story.

    6. I know that I have re-read the same pages over and over in books that require more critical thinking because I don’t retain the information very well.

    7. I know that we will be covering note-taking strategies.

    8. I know that I have slower processing speed and maintaining focus while reading is a challenge.

    9. I know that I have to increase my mental endurance/stamina little by little. That maybe reading 15min at a time and then slowly increase the time over time.

    10. I know I’m excited to learn!

My purpose for joining this reading group is to not only stay actively engaged mentally but also to improve upon reading challenges and learn possibly a different approach to reading comprehension. I would like to be able to absorb/retain the information that I read, be able to summarize efficiently, and exercise my critical thinking to be able to connect and create a deeper understanding of whatever I’m reading.

    Hi,

I’m Magda. I acquired a TBI in 2020 due to a car accident. I was having a lot of cognitive and emotional issues post accident. I enrolled in the ABI program in Fall of ‘22. This program has basically given me life back and have had tremendous growth. I do utilize a lot of the strategies taught in the program. The program has helped reset my brain and has helped me gain confidence & awareness. I’m excited to continue to learn to continue to improve upon as reading is still in area that is challenging.
