I use my calendar to plan, keep on track of tasks, and review tasks completed.

I use the BEST suite app. More specifically I use the Check List and Stratigize My Life functions.

I have made many check lists to refer back to that have aided me in minimizing my neuro fatigue for many of my daily living activities. Example…I pretty much purchase the same items at the grocery and costco. I created “Master Lists” of the items I purchase at these stores. I review the list and actually check off the items I do not need so the items that I need are left unchecked. This aides me in staying focused and getting in and out of the store as quickly as possible. It also helps me stay on budget.

I also utilize the “Stratigize My Life” where I store the stratigies that I have found that work for the new me. So far I have the following catagories: How I learn, how I learn NOT, external memory, internal memory, organization, self regulation, social interactions, active learners credo, and positive affirmations. All of this is and me are a continued work in progress.

I use calendaring as well. I have apple products which I really love because my iPhone, iPad and Mac Book are all linked. If I schedule (make an appointment) in one in populates in all. I have learned to color code which really helps in reminding me to not over schedule myself by creating a visual representation of my day which includes A LOT of white space. This is extremely important in helping me with self-regulation by NOT over extending myslf.

I have an iPhone and iPad. I use the Best Suite App and Notability. I like how the Best Suite App links my iPad and IPhone. Pacing is very important in my daily life to help with migraines and fatigue. I like that the app has so many useful tools. Strategies and lists are also very important. I like the convenience of knowing where my lists are. Paper lists get lost or new ones started without adding items that were not completed.

I just started using notability while taking the strategic reading class. I put notability on my phone and have used it at doctors appointments. Taking notes on my iPad while reading a book is very easy. I like that I can change color of text, etc. I look forward to learning more about how notability can help improve my daily life.

I have enjoyed using Day One for journaling as it transcribes audio dictation when thoughts are coming more easily by speaking than by typing. I’ve also used audio recording app, called Voice Recorder, that lets me record dr. appts and title and organize them in folders–then when they say something important that I want to remember or review, I jot down the time stamp so I know where to go back to re-listen.

I also use Google Sheets for a master list of all my providers and their contact info and area of treatment; and a separate sheet for list of medications with dosing/time of day taken/ special instructions/prescriber. I have downloaded but not yet learned to use the BEST suite apps—before the website updated I thought I found a tutorial on each one, but can’t find that now and not sure if there is such a thing.

For calendars I still much prefer paper but have found it helpful to post a chart on the wall with 1/2hr time slots and have printed off different colors to represent different things (appts, errands, appt review or appt prep, meals, laundry, rest breaks, bills, social activities etc.) and having the color and being able to physically manipulate the color blocks to visualize each week helps me see when the week is missing something or overloaded and I need to ask for help or reschedule.
